Deco Hinged Bracelet
This One of a Kind bracelet is the first piece I made when I learned to make hinges. Its design gives a nod to the Art Deco era and the Ginko leaf.
It is deliciously weighty with the panels hand sawed from 1.5mm thick silver sheet. They are curved to hug the wrist and hinged so each piece moves independently. The faces are luminous with a satin matt finish and the interior and edges are hand-polished to a high shine creating a stunning contrast and giving it depth.
It is a priceless piece and took me many hours to make. Right after I took this photo my four year old daughter picked it up, bent it inside out and snapped the hinges off. I actually cried! Many weeks passed before I could revisit it again to fix the hinges.
